Government May Soon Release Bill to Regulate Digital News Media Industry

The Government of India may soon bring in legislation to regulate Digital News Media industry for the first time through the Registration of Press and Periodicals Bill, 2019. The bill was proposed by the Cabinet lately. If the bill is passed in Monsoon Session, digital news publishers have to apply for registration within 90 days of the law coming into effect.
